WINTER STORM WARNINGS Extended Through Saturday AM
The National Weather Service lengthened WINTER STORM WARNINGS in Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, St. Joe, and Branch counties until 7 AM Saturday. In these areas, lake effect snowfall creates additional accumulations between 2" and 8"; localized higher amounts are possible. Ultimately, storm totals are easily above the one foot mark. Favorable winds off Lake Michigan mean road conditions are going to be an issue, especially where blowing and drifting take place.
The remaining WINTER STORM WARNINGS in Muskegon and Oceana counties should be allowed to expire at their current expiration time of 7 PM (if not earlier). This is also true of the WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES in Newaygo, Mecosta, Montcalm, Kent, Ionia, Barry, and Calhoun counties.
